Drinks at the Village.

Anyone who knows me has the very clear understanding that I love food and drinks, it really is my love language. Give me a wonderful glass of wine and a superb charcuterie platter and I will love you forever. Last Friday night Matthew and I decided to try a new place, well new to us. We have the privilege of living near the Woodinville Wine District. After living in the area for two years it was about damn time we ventured out.
The place that we tried was Village Wines, and I was not left disappointed in the least. Village is quaint and classy. It wasn't the kind of place that required a dress code but the air in the place was sophisticated. There was not only bar seating but several small table inside and out. In the front corner of the floor plan there was a small living room style seating area where you could enjoy your drink in a cozy chair or listen to the wonderful live music they occasionally have playing. It had a great home away from home vibe.
As fate would have it We arrived with about an hour or so left of happy hour, the Lord was looking out for me. The girls on the wait staff were adorable (I wanted to ask several of them about their hair, makeup, and outfits.) and very prompt. Matthew and I each got wines that they had on special. He had the Seven Falls Cab Sauv and I had the Villa Maria "Bubbly" Sauv Blanc. They were amazing, I had three glasses of the white! I will most likely be buying a bottle or two of the white for Christmas dinner.
I am pretty easy to please when it comes to wine but I am more skeptical of food. There has been more than once where I have been charge that inflated Eastside price for a plate that was sub par and something I could have ordered at Red Robin. Village was not one of those places.
Matthew ordered a Turkey Panini with Turkey (duh!), prosciutto, provolone, sundried tomatoes, tapenade, and pesto on sourdough bread. It smelled divine and I am assuming he loved it because all conversations came to a screeching halt when he started eating. I ordered the soft pretzel with a spicy beer cheese sauce and the Antipasto plate. The pretzel wasn't anything special but I have a hole in my heart that can only be filled by the gluten filled devil. My swollen fingers and puffy face the next morning was not near as satisfied with the pretzel. However, I will be dreaming about that cheese sauce. Matthew basically helped me lick the dish clean.
My favorite between all the dishes was definitely the antipasto plate. give me a selection of cheeses, a great wine, and an assortment olives and I can die happy. This plate in particular had three different cheeses, prosciutto, salami, light crackers, course ground mustard, and mediterranean olives. I would have loved to finished the whole plate on my own but alas my stomach is not big enough. As we finished our last drink we enjoyed some John Mayer esque live music that was great, even by my husband's finicky standards. It was a perfect relaxing evening and I cannot wait to go back to Village and try more of their delicious wines and beautiful food.

Stay Classy🍷
