Halloween on a budget: Sea Witch.
It is that wonderful time of year where the weather has finally calmed the hell down and Halloween candy is a basic food group. I love this time of year strictly because of the fact that there are costumes everywhere. I am all about dressing up and I wish that it was something I could do everyday without being thrown into the loony bin. Since I love costumes so much I have found ways to make them out of clothing that I already own.
When I was in college there were theme nights all the time and buying a costume or even just accessories for one gets expensive very quickly. With that being said, I believe I have become the master of cheap costumes. Everything I am going to be showing you in the next few weeks is all stuff I have around my house or items I have bought for next to nothing. Without further ado, here is number one.
Not only is this costume sexy and dark but it was pretty inexpensive. The first thing I did was go through my closet to see what I could use. Mermaid stuff is all the rage so getting scale leggings is really easy. I found some on Amazon really similar to mine. I do recommend getting a size larger than what is suggested in the description. I have a decent amount of junk in the trunk so, to keep them from going sheer i but black tights under them.
The top was also really simple. I had a black leather cam from Zara in my closet already. andy black top will work for this costume. I just prefer leather, because well, who doesn't? If you want one like mine I recommend this one, it's not leather but the shape is similar.
The shoes are ones that I live in. Seriously, I wear these boots with everything. These are my most expensive item on the costume because they are my everyday shoe. If you really want them you can get them here, but using any black shoe works just as well. The accessories were stuff I had just laying around.

The spiked bracelets are from the goodwill but here are some similar to mine. One of my leather cuffs was from my husband and the other is here on Amazon (can you tell I get everything from there?). My leather choker is actually a wrap bracelet. This is another more expensive item, it was a gift from my husband. Here is one that is similar to mine or here is almost the same one. The shell ring I am wearing, which is hard to see (I appologize) is from Hawaii but this one is similar. My earrings are from etsy and I have had them for a couple of years but finding similar ones isn't hard, try here, and here. Lastly the starfish I clipped into my hair was a plaster one I got from Michael's and glued to a barrette, and my netted skirt was an old halloween decoration from the dollar store (Amazon has it too).
Anyone who knows me knows that no outfit, let alone a costume is complete without makeup. I had a blast doing this look! It is a bit time consuming, but most art is. If you want to see how I did the look check out the video below. I decided to do a detailed walk through of what I did. I start the video with a basic face of foundation and my eyebrows done but that is it. If this costume is too out there for you, no worries! Next week I am doing another costume that is not only adorable and beyond simple but probably the most comfortable one out there!
